Note For UCLA Fans Mocking Other Tourney Teams (4 clicks)
I wanted to pass on some football notes this Sunday before Ryan opens up another March Madness thread. Before I do that wanted to share couple of quick observations from last three days of actions I have picked up here, in other Bruin online communities and also in the twitter world (you can follow BN account here).First of all, I think it is a little silly for UCLA fans to make fun of Big East's troubles during this tourney season. Saw Maurice Jones Drew and Jarrad Page doing it on twitter yesterday.

Despite the Pac-10's No. 2 seeding, 10 wins in 11 games and only one loss to a team other than second-ranked Stanford since Dec. 18, the UCLA women's basketball team could do no better than a No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament, which begins for the Bruins at 6:30 p.m. today in Minneapolis against ninth-seed North Carolina State.

Bruins Beat ORU, 12-2, For School-Record 15th Straight Win (2 clicks)
It took UCLA a while to get going in today's game, but it sure hasn't taken them long to get going this season. The Bruins didn't break a 1-1 deadlock until the sixth inning, but nine runs in the inning carried the Bruins to a 12-2 victory over Oral Roberts at Jackie Robinson Stadium. With the win, the Bruins improved to 15-0 on the season and those 15 straight wins breaks the school-record for consecutive wins set in 1969 when that team won 14 in a row.Trevor Bauer was nails on the mound for UCLA, tossing eight innings and allowing just one run on five hits while striking out nine to improve his record to 4-0 on the year.

Spring Optimism At Spaulding (5 clicks)
All right ladies and gents. We just have little more than 12 days to go till start of spring football camp. Coach Rick Neuheisel is feeling pretty "optimistic" heading into this year's camp. The Los Angeles Wave (a new traditional media outlet?) published a pretty cool capsule with a short preview on the Bruins this spring. The article had some pretty good comments from CRN on our offense:"I expect us to continue to build on the growth and progress we made on offense a year ago," Neuheisel said.

Great job so far John. Appreciate the hard work. Now for my question. I realize Randal Carroll was a freshman last year, however in every UCLA football game I watched I noticed they did not have Carroll or Austin(arguably the two fastest players on the team) on the field or in formations together most of the time. Was this due to inexperience or not knowing the playbook?

UCLA Uses Big Bats To Crush Oral Roberts, 20-4 (10 clicks)
The 13th ranked Bruins just kept hitting and hitting and hitting. Coming off of finals week, there was concern that the UCLA offense may be a little off and need a few innings to kept back in sync. Concerns unwarranted. The Bruins totaled 23 hits against Oral Roberts on Friday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium, including three home runs as they crushed the Golden Eagles, 20-4 to improve to 14-0 on the season. Their 14 straight wins ties the school record set in 1969.It didn't take long for the UCLA offense to get going either.
