Spaulding Roundup: Updated Roster, Ayers Rising, Tom Brady's Cameo & Other UCLA Football Notes (73 clicks)
UCLA just released its updated football roster for 2010 spring football. Check it out over here. Here are some of the numbers that stood out to me: Defensive Tackles: Nate Chandler is now listed at 6-5/291, which is about plus 21 from the previous list. That is impressive because we are going to need this size and more importantly athleticism at the DL. Donovan Carter has also gained 24 pounds (I am guessing the most among the entire team) and he is now listed as 6-1/271 DT. Not too shabby at all.

UCLA Spring Media Guide released (28 clicks)
The UCLA Spring Football media guide was released today, and there is only one real surprise on the depth chart.Damien Thigpen is listed at third, ahead of Milton Knox and behind Johnathan Franklin and Derrick Coleman. I've long been a proponent of Knox, and I'm surprised even before spring practice has started, Thigpen has surpassed him.

UCLA Spring Football Outlook (51 clicks)
The Bruins begin the third season of the Rick Neuheisel Era having won four of their last five games a year ago, including a victory in the EagleBank Bowl. They enter Spring Practice with the coaching staff virtually intact and a third straight Top Ten recruiting class. A total of 44 lettermen (one from 2008), including 12 positional starters and the best kicking tandem in the nation, give Neuheisel and his staff reason for optimism entering Spring drills
