Kevin Love doesn't seem like a freshman anymore. Not after he helped dispatch Stanford's 7-foot twin towers in the Pacific-10 Conference opener, then recorded a double-double against Cal.

"It was a war" (240 clicks)
Let's get to right to last night's huge win at Maples. Again I don't think we can emphasize enough what a huge win it was. Bruins needed that win to get started on the right note in what should be a very difficult Pac-10 season during which every road game is going to be a challenge. So to pull out what ended up being a win by comfortable margin in a difficult atmosphere, by locking down a very well coached team on defense, while out executing them on offense, was monumental for a team which may be stocked with veterans but were looking for an identity in the post Arron Afflalo era.

Bruins apply finishing touch (261 clicks)
UCLA re-established its place at the top of the contentious Pac 10 Conference food chain with a 76-67 win that actually looked like feeding time for the family boa constrictor. The Bruins consumed the Cardinal with their typical remorselessness, first exhausting and then out-executing Stanford down the long and seemingly tedious stretch.

The win against Michigan State earlier this season in which we were without DC (and Roll) was a huge deal. However, tonight at Maples our Ben Ball warriors pulled out what I think may be the most meaningful win to date in the post AA era.
