Making the grade (104 clicks)
UCLA's recruiting class is being challenged as other schools try to sway recruits, but another factor is at work, according to my sources, who said at least five of the committed players were not presented yet because of fear they would not be admitted when UCLA's admissions brass met last week. I was told the kids will be able to get into "nearly every Pac-10 school, maybe all, except Stanford,'' by a source. Most of the players involved need to increase their SATs scores, and could still get into UCLA.

Pete Carroll to Atlanta: Another Boilerplate Offseason Story? (68 clicks)
Here we go again. It is another off season, which means we get to read another round of stories on NFL teams going after Pete Carroll. But the latest story involving the Atlanta Falcons (check out the discussion in gbruin's diary) is a little interesting for a couple of reasons: 1) apparently PC is interested and 2) the Falcons are desperate enough to offer full control of the team.
