1) The third guy in the booth sucked. I kind of understand the idea (have a UCLA and ASU guy call color) but there wasn’t that much good to say about ASU tonight. Like I said in a chat, the ASU guy should only be able to talk when ASU actually scores.

He's the best rebounder that I have ever coached," Howland said. "We had a kid, who, his senior year when I was an assistant up at Santa Barbara, Eric McArthur, averaged like 13 rebounds a game, I think, or 13.2. I think he was second in the country his senior year.''

San Antonio College quarterback, who guided the Mounties to their first CCCAA championship game in 10 years this past fall, agreed late Monday to accept a scholarship offer from UCLA. "As soon as UCLA hired Norm Chow (as offensive coordinator last week), they watched my tape and wanted to recruit me," said Craft, who because of NCAA transfer rules is not eligible to enroll at UCLA until the summer. He was thought to be a lock to SMU (He was following June Jones from Hawaii) but apparently Norm Chow and Rick Neuheisel convinced him to come to Westwood. Craft is 22 years old and he has two years of eligibility remaining. He'll add some depth to the quarterback position that will lose two seniors after the 2008 season.
