UCLA tentative practice schedule (80 clicks)
Per Rick Neuheisel: UCLA will practice Friday and Saturday, once most, if not all, finals are done, and the team will gather for practice Saturday morning, lunch, and then the Navy-Army game. Kai Maiava also told me that Neuheisel told them to get in at least three workouts by Friday. The Bruins are allowed to practice while the process is pending.

The Early Words: Football Bowl Notebook (80 clicks)
UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel might need to make a spur-of-the-moment shopping trip. He has some Navy gear to buy. If the Midshipmen defeat Army on Saturday, the Bruins are headed to the EagleBank Bowl at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., for a Dec. 29 matchup with the 9-3 Temple Owls. As it stands, the Black Knights are 5-6 and not eligible for the EagleBank Bowl, despite a tie-in.

Well yeah. It's not snowing in DC today but it did over the weekend a bit giving us our first snow of the year. The picture above is from another year though, which I think gives a little hint of what folks could expect in late December if we get a legit snow storm in Washington DC. Will the Bruins get to play in their first legit snow bowl (don't really count the one from Washington State during the regular season because it wasn't really snowing during the game) this December?

THE MAD BOMBER (95 clicks)
Looks like Pete Carroll’s explosive eruption was a little premature.
On Saturday, Pom Pom, Matt Barkley, and the trojans all found out that it’s a little tougher to connect on a deep pass when it doesn’t come as part of a bush league surprise attack. With usc trailing 21-17 and just a few minutes left in the game, Barkley needed a long strike to keep the trojans from plummetting even further below their lofty preseason expectations. But the Freshman QB apparently does NOT have what it takes to come through in the clutch.
