Cowan Likely Done (103 clicks)
Well, Pat's time as a Bruin could be done. He has damage to his ACL after injuring his leg in practice Thursday. The doctors have to wait for the swelling to go down before they determine if surgery is necessary. If it is then that's basically all she wrote for Cowan. It can take almost a year to recover from that type of injury and with Pat a red-shirt senior, his days in the blue and gold would be over. Ben Olson may need a screw put into his foot. He broke the bone and is expected to be out 6-8 weeks. Which would make him available for Fall camp if his recovery is on track.

More QB update (105 clicks)
UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel said Ben Olson was leaning toward having the surgery to insert a screw into his foot, but wanted to speak with his family about it. Neuheisel said if Patrick Cowan had reconstructive knee surgery, he would miss the 2008 season. He added there is a partial tear in the ACL, but the swelling made it difficult to tell whether surgery was needed, which is why UCLA is waiting for the swelling to go down before making the determination.

ROSE CHARADE, OR ROSE-BUD? (101 clicks)
The "What's Bruin" blog is still just a UCLA site, and unlike with Lonnie White, there is no subtle undercurrent of negativity or sarcasm. Rose's only "agenda" is to be Professional, and to deliver a top-quality blog that Bruin fans want to read. In fact, Rose was honest enough to "admit" recently that the UCLA Dance Team was the #1 Squad in the entire Pac-10. He gave #2 Oregon the nod for pure photogenics, but gave UCLA the Title, after inserting talent, wardrobe, and attitude into the equation. NO real Bruin-Hating trojan would EVER make an "arbitrary" decision like this -- and make it public – knowing that his trojan brethern are going to read it, and skewer him for it.
