As a high school basketball player, he did not work his way into the starting lineup until he was a junior and couldn't dunk until his senior season. Just a couple of years removed from being a lightly recruited prospect out of Leuzinger High School, UCLA sophomore guard Russell Westbrook was a lottery selection in the NBA draft.

Name Recognition (192 clicks)
I know it's the offseason because I'm having way too much fun (and trouble) with this game.
The rules are simple: Type the name of every school in the BCS conferences in 12 minutes or less. You can type them in any order, and several variations of a school's name will count. It's the honor code here, so no looking at a map or anything like that.

Basketball Dream Match-ups (221 clicks)
After reading N’s post about the home and home series with Kansas in ’09-’10, I remembered a post by M from a while back about football rivalries that aren’t, but should be. This got me wondering, what basketball rivalries are out there that aren’t but should be? I’m going to take it a little farther than that and not only limit it to rivalries, but home and home series as well.

Ben Ball 08-09: Not Taking Anything For Granted (343 clicks)
As excited as w all are about Howland's K extension and the three straight Final-4s, we need to maintain our perspective wrt to our expectations for next season. Already I am getting the sense that some UCLA basketball fans are taking the Final-4 appearances for granted and that they are expecting a reserved spot in Detroit next April.

Although 6-8 senior Tyler Honeycutt (Sylmar, Calif.) displayed the most promise with his feathery shooting touch and bouncy nature, it would be the underclassmen taking center stage at the UCLA Skills Camp, most notably 6-5 junior Tyler Lamb (Ontario, Calif./ Colony), 6-3 sophomore Jabari Brown (Richmond, Calif./ Salesian) and 6-7 sophomore Kyle Wiltjer (Portland, Ore./ Jesuit).

Sitting on a cross-country flight Sunday gave me a chance to dig into a few things and that means the return of the weekly Top 10 list. Today's topic is the teams with the toughest non-conference schedule. I calculated this one based on a simple point total based on who the team is playing and where, and then averaged up the points since some schools have three games and others have four.
